Aquaponics Commercial Training - Hawaii
Saturday, 18 February 2012 00:00
Hawaii Aquaponics Commercial Training 2012
By Friendly Aquaponics,Inc
This training includes the additional information you need if you want to make money feeding other people, and have already mastered aquaponic technology. We will show you how we got our aquaponics farm USDA Organic Certified AND Food Safety Certified (no small feats! We have gotten certified both through Oregon Tilth of Oregon, AND through Organic Certifiers of California. They have said "As long as people build their systems exactly as Friendly Aquaponics has done, then their certification process will be a slam dunk."). Seven additional Friendly students have gotten their systems USDA organically certified as of June 2011.
Your Personal Trainers for the Commercial Aquaponics Training:
Susanne Friend, the owner of the company (with degrees in biology and chemistry) is your personal trainer for questions and issues regarding organic certification, plant and fish diseases, sales and marketing, value-added processing, fish hatchery and nursery design and operation, water and aeration questions, and water quality questions.
Tim Mann (technical staff) has been doing architectural and civil engineering design and drafting since 1990, and was an authorized AutoCAD dealer for 7 years during that period. Tim handles comprehensive system design and site-specific aquaponics questions as well as technical issues having to do with tank, piping, aeration, pumping, and electrical design.

We cover a lot of ground in this information-packed two days, and these commercial aquaponics systems grow a lot of food in a small space with high energy efficiency.
Please note: information on aquaponic system construction and operation is not part of this course, but is covered in the three-day Aquaponics Technology Training.

Aquaponic Solar Greenhouse Training - Hawaii
Thursday, 16 February 2012 00:00

Two day Aquaponic Solar Greenhouse Training - Hawaii
By Friendly Aquaponics, Inc.
This training gives you all the information you need to successfully build and operate your own Aquaponic Solar Greenhouse.Franz Schreier's Aquaponic Solar Greenhouse combined with Friendly Aquaponics growing technologies grows TEN TIMES as many plants at HALF THE COST to build and operate!
Here are the Aquaponic Solar Greenhouse's benefits to you:- Fish are not necessary; you choose if you want to include them! Get USDA Organically Certified and grow with EITHER fish (aquaponics) or our organically approved (yet affordable) hydroponic solution with this growing system. No one else in the WORLD is teaching this now.
- Ability to grow year-round in temperature extremes from 10 below zero to 110 degrees of heat means you have no yearly "gap" in food production, also means fresh produce is available year-round.
- The ability to produce ten to twelve times as many plants per square foot as the best current vertical growing systems means this greenhouse costs you far less to build and operate per plant than any currently available technology. This means less work for you, or more profit if you're doing this commercially.
- The PV panels have multiple functions: they deliver electricity for operating air blowers and water pumps; they function as heat exchangers: cooling in summer and heating in winter; and the excess electricity they generate can be stored or fed back into the grid for credit. All these benefit you by saving you money when building and operating. Their "shadowing" function is shown in the image below.
There's a LOT more information on our webpage http://www.friendlyaquaponics.com/solar-greenhouse. If you have any questions about this course, please email us at training@friendlyaquaponics.com. Aloha, Tim and Susanne.

Hawaii Aquaponics Technology Training
By Friendly Aquaponics, Inc.
This training gives you all the aquaponic technology we've developed over the last four years. It includes comprehensive information on: vegetable varieties that grow well in aquaponic systems; planting, germinating, sprouting, and nursery techniques for vegetables; low-cost and efficient tilapia breeding, egg hatchery, fry care, and fish nursery techniques; aquaponics system design and construction from 10 square feet up to 100,000 square feet; site design and greenhouse design and construction; and aquaponics system construction techniques for systems from 2 square feet in size on up to systems that are thousands of square feet in size.
The course materials consist of: complete materials lists and suppliers contact information that makes it easy for anyone to build any size system; an accompanying set of detailed CAD plans including site plans and piping schematics; an "Aquaponics Course Manual" covering all aspects of aquaponics, and an operations manual with checklist covering the day-to-day operations of a commercial aquaponics system.

You'll also learn everything we learned this past four years building and operating five USDA organically certified aquaponics systems, a tilapia hatchery and nursery, a State of Hawaii Health Department Certified vegetable processing facility, and most recently, improved water circulation and aeration designs that use as little as one-tenth the electricity for pumping water and aerating fish and plants that our original UVI designs did.
